    History

    1953-1955

    C-46 Transport Pilot, Brady AB and Tachikawa Tokyo, Japan. Primary duty was flying military personal, cargo and Medivac between Korea, Japan, Okinawa and other far East destinations. In December 1954 ferried a C-46 to Airforce Reserve Unit from Tokyo to Atterbury, Indiana.

    1955-1959

    C-47 & C45 Instructor Pilot and Instrument Flight Examiner in an Air Reserve Flying Center at Mitchell AFB, Long Island, NY.  

    1959-1960

    Westover AFB. MA - Radar Approach Control.  First USAF officer to be facility rated on all three of the radar control positions (Pickup, Feeder, Precision and Final Approach Positions). Additional duties were flying the base T-29 aircraft.  

    1960-1963

    Flight facilities officer, RAF  Sculthorpe, England.  Supervising control tower and mobile Ground Control Approach facilities for two years then became the squadron commander for one year.  Flew base flight C-47's and T-29 aircraft all over Europe.

    1966-1967

    Forward Air Controller (FAC) Da Nang, Hue and Quang Tri,  Vietnam.  Directed airstrikes from o-1E aircraft.  Competed 372 combat missions for over 620 combat flying hours earning the DFC, 17 Air Medals, Bronze Star and many others.  (See Medals). 

    1967-1970

    HQ USAF Staff, Pentagon in Washington D.C.  serving as an air traffic control staff officer representing the USAF by coordinating with the FAA, Army and the Navy counterparts on national issues of interest.  Flew C-54 and C-118 aircraft based at Andrews AFB.  n about this item

    1970-1972

     Commander Communications Squadron, Tyndall AFB for last two years of active duty until retirement on May 1, 1972 

    1972-1984

    Real Estate Broker and President of Panama City Bay County Board of REALTORS in 1980. 

    1986-1990

    State of Florida (HRS) Pilot on the DC-3 flying low level aerial spray applications for dog flies and mosquito control along the Panama City beaches to Pensacola, Cape San Blas seasonally from June through September annually.  

    1990-1991

    Miami Cargo Operations with charter service company flying to the Bahamas in a modified C-45's.  

    DFC - Robert E Neubauer / Wall of Honor Steven F.  Advar-Hazy National Air and Space Museum, Smithsonian Inst.
